As lime specialists we take care to match the right materials to the type and period of building, whether it is a 15th century hall house or a Georgian terrace. We use many traditional techniques including fine lime finishes, chalk plasters, lath and plaster, wattle and daub and hemp plaster. We also ensure, where necessary, that modern, sustainable, material is used to enhance historical buildings. These include insulating plasters and natural insulation such as sheep's wool.

DB Building Conservation also provides historic building consultancy in Norfolk and has worked on many historical renovation projects where we have assisted on many aspects from obtaining listed building consent to providing Heritage statements.
With a background in historic building conservation we can help to assess what kind of repairs would be in the best long-term interests of historic buildings even if we are not in a position to undertake these repairs ourselves. We may be able to suggest suitably qualified tradespeople to undertake the work.
